The IFI Mark is an accreditation scheme, which is managed and delivered by the English Federation of Disability Sport (EFDS).
The programme aims to make the fitness industry more inclusive by catering for the needs of disabled and non-disabled people and the EFDS has appointed Direct Enquiries to undertake audits of fitness facilities wishing to attain the IFI Mark.
There are three standards of accreditation for the IFI Mark: Provisional, Registered and Excellent and following the new appointment, the audit process and assessment have become more time efficient and streamlined.
A recent pilot project saw eight leisure facilities audited using the new systems in a process that provides leisure facilities with a systematic action plan and report on their level of IFI Mark accreditation.
Currently there are 400 IFI Mark gyms in the UK.
